If more people choose a household battery in the coming years and this makes the grid more balanced, will the potential profitability decrease?

In theory, every new battery installed in the imbalance market will help improve the grid balance and thus reduce price volatility in the imbalance market. At the same time, in the coming years, more coal and gas power plants will cease production and will be replaced by wind and solar farms, which are less predictable. This, in turn, will lead to an increase in imbalance. At the same time, we assume that adding the congestion market as a trading opportunity will increase returns. In our profitability calculations, we now assume that year-on-year trading results will remain the same.
